NEVER, EVER CHANGE A FILE IN YOUR SYSTEM FILE. ALWAYS WORK FROM A COPY. I am not liable for any damage you do to your machine as a result of not following these directions or by you making a modification to your system files.
The attached file, Blue Slate, is designed to take the place of the regular System 7.5.1 startup screen.
Make a copy of the System 7.5 Update file found in the System Folder. Open it using ResEdit. Open the PICT resources, then double click on number -16506.
Open Blue Slate with ResEdit. Double click on the PICT resources. Double click on number 0. Select copy from the Edit menu.
Go back to PICT resource -16506 in the System 7.5 Update file. Select paste from the Edit menu. Close the file System 7.5 Update and answer yes when prompted to save changes.
Quit ResEdit.
Open the System Folder and put the original System 7.5 Update file in a safe place outside of the System Folder. Move the copy of the System 7.5 Update file in which you placed Blue Slate into the System Folder. Be sure the file is called System 7.5 Update.
Restart your machine.
